  PERSONAL BACKGROUND

 

Lesley obtained his LL.B degree at Vista University and started his professional career as a candidate attorney at Phatshoane Henney inc, specializing in Magistrate's Court litigation as well as dispute resolution and arbitration. He participated with zeal in all student activities at Vista University with. Lesley was able to represent the University successfully at the Phillip Yessup International Moot Court Competitions in 2003 at the University of Pretoria. In the same year he was selected to participate in the Integrated Bar Project Internship, organized by the University of Pretoria.

He was appointed as a Professional Assistant in the Labour Law Department of Phatshoane Henney Inc. at the end of 2005 and as a Director in 2006 and he will continue to provide litigation and arbitration services to clients. He appears on behalf of various corporate clients at the CCMA, bargaining councils and the Labour Court.

Lesley provides a variety of litigation services, ranging from Magistrate's court litigation and High Court applications to dispute resolution, arbitration services, debt collection and liquor licensing. He further specializes in occupational health and safety practice and has acted as a chairperson of various Eskom Occupational Health and Safety investigation committees.

The Labour Law Department of which Lesley is a Director has many public and private sector clients and provides litigation services for amongst others, the Free State Department of Agriculture, the Free State Department of Public Works, the Free State Department of Tourism, the University of the Free State, Mangaung Local Municipality, Eskom, Centlec, Standard Bank, Glenrand MIB, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Senwes, Captain Dorego’s, Crown International and Steiner Hygiene.
